Ty Patton, JD
General Counsel, Auctioneer
Ty has worked as general counsel, auctioneer, and a REALTOR with McCurdy Auction, LLC since 2015. Previously, Ty practiced law at a small firm in Topeka, Kansas, where he focused on the areas of creditor rights/asset protection, real estate litigation, transactional drafting, and estate planning and probate.
A lifelong Kansas resident, Ty grew up in Butler County. He earned his Bachelor of Science in History, cum laude, from Emporia State University in May 2009 and obtained his Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from Washburn University School of Law in December 2011. While in law school, Ty was a published staff member of the Washburn Law Journal and a member of the Washburn Trial Advocacy Team. He is also a graduate of the World Wide College of Auctioneering and the Professional Ringman’s Institute.
Ty is a past vice-president of the Topeka Area Bankruptcy Council and a current member of the Kansas and Wichita Bar Associations, the Kansas and National Auctioneers Association, and the National Association of REALTORS®, Kansas Association of REALTORS®, and the REALTORS® of South Central Kansas. He has been a presenter at the annual convention of the Kansas County Appraiser's Association and the North Central Regional Association of Assessing Officers. Ty also serves on the Board of Directors for the Kansas Chapter of the Risk Management Association and as co-chair of the Wichita Bar Association Estate Planning & Probate Committee. In addition to being an active member of his church, Ty sits on the Board of Trustees for the Old Cowtown Museum and the Board of Directors of Wichita Festivals, Inc.
